ABOUT US

We supply a quality rock blasting and drilling service to all construction, road and mining sites.
The key to New Era Blasting & Demolition's success is the combination of expertise and experience mixed with a solid foundation of ability and reliability. We believe in nurturing strong relationships with our clients to assist us in establishing the most accurate rock blasting and drilling requirements for their sites.

SMALL COMPANY, BIG IMPACT
Our competitors treat their customers as customers; we treat our customers as partners and provide that extra level of care and support. This helps us compete with multi-million rand competitors whilst retaining a personal level of service.
Rock Drilling
Purpose
At NEW ERA BLASTING & DEMOLITION , our drill and blast services will design a project that precisely excavates large amounts of rock at low production costs. Depending on the blasting method used, a number and pattern of holes designed by NEW ERA BLASTING & DEMOLITIOIN licensed blasters are drilled into the rock, which is then filled with explosives.

Process
In trench drilling, the diameter of the blast holes is normally smaller which provides better distribution of the explosive in the rock. As a rule of thumb, the hole diameter should be 1/60 of the width of the trench. If the width of the trench is 2.0 m, the diameter of the hole should be 33 mm. In traditional trench blasting, the middle blast holes are placed in front of the lateral holes, and all holes are charged with the same amount of explosives. In smooth wall trench blasting, all holes in each row are in a line, and the middle holes are heavily charged, while the edge holes have lighter charges. Combining custom design with industry standard patterns, Africa Blasting Worx team guarantees to build the perfect drilling pattern for each blasting project
Trench Blasting & Drilling

Purpose
Trenches are built for pipelines of oil, water, sewage, and cables. NEW ERA BLASTING uses the trench blasting method in a way that concentrates energy distribution through the rock.

Process
Our trench blasting method uses rounds with a width less than 4 m, and the diameter of the blast holes is smaller than the diameter of the rounds. The smaller size of the holes drilled into the rock better distributes the explosive throughout the rock and avoids contour over break
Heavily-populated Areas
When building trenches for road excavation or pipeline installation in densely populated areas, we take utmost care when drawing plans for a project’s drilling pattern and blasting sequence. To minimize ground vibrations, the drill holes are kept as small as possible, typically 30-50 mm in diameter. To eliminate the risk of fly rock, the blasts are covered with heavy mats made of logs, rubber, or tires, which are cut into sections and twined together with steel wires. These mats, around 1 t in weight, absorb energy, and the gases produced by the blast ventilate through the mats without displacing them

Unpopulated Areas
Our highest priorities when excavating pipelines projects for oil and gas distribution in unpopulated areas are overall project costs and time efficiency. Larger blast holes are used to maximize the rock removal of a detonation sequence

Structural Demolition
NEW ERA BLASTING & DEMOLITION takes a strategic approach to structural demolition, dismantling buildings in the safest and soundest possible manner. Starting with a full interior gut of the building, the crews then move efficiently over each site, simultaneously performing demolition, sorting building materials and performing any necessary abatement.
